Technical Service Bulletin: An Improvement to Wireless Consistency

A very small percentage of installs with either 1.14.1 or 1.16 have experienced a loss of supervision (LOS). Customers who experience this issue should consider updating the affected panel.

PRODUCTS

New GC2 Panels with Firmware Version 1.14.0.1 or 1.16 – OR –

Existing Installed GC2 Panels that have been updated to Version 1.14.0.1 or 1.16

IMPROVEMENT

Nortek Security & Control has released a firmware patch to improve wireless consistency for GC2 Panel Versions 1.14.0.1 and 1.16. The Version Numbers for these patches are 1.14.0.2 and 1.16.0.1.

Update Process

New Installs

These patches will be applied automatically by Alarm.com to newly installed GC2 Panels shortly after installation is complete. The Dealer/Installer is not required to request the patch be pushed. There will be no service interruptions with this update.

Existing Installs

GC2 Panels that were recently upgraded to either 1.14.0.1 or 1.16 and require additional range can be upgraded to either 1.14.0.2 or 1.16.0.1 by requesting the patch be applied by Alarm.com or by using one of the update tools that are available from Nortek (2GIG-UPCBL2 or 2GIG-UPDV). The files for manually updating are available on the 2GIG Dealer Support Site at www.2gig.com/dealers/support- materials/firmware. Please click on the upload delivery device that will be used to revise the firmware and download the appropriate version of the firmware.

Patches will not push automatically for any Firmware Version before 1.14.0.1. For example, this update does not apply to panels with version 1.13.
